We are one of the most highly successful and active regional chapters of SETAC NA and that is due to the hard work, donations, and strong volunteerism of our members. Whether it is helping in the planning stages of our annual conference, volunteering onsite, serving on the PNW-SETAC Board of Directors, or making a contribution there are numerous opportunities to support PNW-SETAC. Moreover, by supporting it you are also supporting toxicology and chemistry research in the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you are a student, recent graduate, or established professional, your dues help to support our mission to provide venues for sharing and exchanging regionally relevant science-based information on toxicological issues and fostering a broader understanding of environmental science among the public and private sectors. Please join or renew your membership on our Member Services webpage! For those of you who wish to contribute in a more substantial manner, please consider the benefits of becoming a Sustaining Member, or having your employer become a Corporate Member.
Learning is a lifelong process and by sharing your knowledge and expertise with others you leave a lasting legacy. Your field of research also benefits by having more people informed about the issues and engaged. Please Contact Us you are interested in this option
Each student's presentation is judged by a committee of four comprised of a representative from government, industry, and academia, as well as a (non-presenting) student member. The constructive feedback you can give a student or recent graduate on their research can be an invaluable benefit to her/him that can last a lifetime. You are able to share some of the lessons you have learned that will help that student be better scientist, as well as a better communicator.
If you are interested in being a judge, please Contact Us
We always need help at the Registration/Check-in desk and someone to take photos for posting on the website over the two and 1/2 day conference. Please Contact Us if you are interested in volunteering!
Many of our most memorable conferences have been held in venues recommended by our members. Being an onsite coordinator to help the PNW-SETAC Board identify a viable location and address logistical issues is an invaluable service you can provide. The PNW-SETAC Board fills the role of Meeting Coordinator, but having someone willing to be our onsite go-to person is crucial in making the scheduling and logistical arrangements go smoothly. If you are interested in helping us host our annual meeting in your city, please Contact Us.
Each year we look to our membership for good-natured, hard-working, and energetic volunteers to serve on the PNW-SETAC Board. Terms of office are three years, but they fly by due to the behind-the-scenes camaraderie, teamwork, and collaboration that minimizes the workload for everyone.
Here is your opportunity to work with enthusiastic colleagues and be involved in the direction and governance of your Pacific Northwest SETAC Chapter.
We are seeking nominations for Vice-President/President-Elect, Secretary, and two Board of Director’s positions, the At-Large (Industry) representative and the At-Large (Student) representative. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please Contact Us.
This is a great opportunity for your company, institution, or agency to recruit and hire from the diverse pool of professionals (established, as well as newly entering the field) that are in our region. It's also a great way to advertise all the attributes that your company, institution, or agency has to offer. Please send all job announcements to our email at pnwsetac@gmail.com along with a brief paragraph describing your company, institution, or agency.
Please consider becoming a Sustaining or Corporate member by making a donation using the Donate button.
